Welcome to my homepage!
I am a guest researcher at the Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication. In February 2021, I defended my doctoral dissertation, titled "The complexity and learnability of phonological patterns: simulations, experiments, typology" (supervisors: Paul Boersma and Silke Hamann). My PhD project focused on three topics:the emergence of phonological features, incorporating both auditory and lexical information, in a neural network model of the language learner;
the role that analytic bias plays in the replication of patterns of feature combinations by human learners;
the distributions of complexity measures in attested sound changes and plosive inventories.
